Updates! Updates! Updates! Make sure you get the latest Microsoft updates for Windows 10, 8.1 and 7.
These updates fix several critical security bugs.
According to Microsoft, at least two of these bugs are already being exploited in active attacks. They also warned that several of them have been described publicly and in detail. This gives hackers a head start in developing new attacks.
Make sure your updates are turned on and processing. Painful, but essential.

Yahoo confirm that data associated with over 500 million user accounts was stolen in late 2014.

Time to change your password on Yahoo, and it would be a good idea to change your security questions and answers too.
Financial details or credit card numbers are not believed to be included in the breach.

My photo was selected as the winner of the WA Resilient Awards. It is now being entered into the national award. Fingers crossed.

Some users are reporting problems with their iPhone or iPad after updating to iOS version 10.
Problems include:

• iTunes not recognising the device or saying its in recovery mode
• Apple logo stuck on the screen with no progress bar
• Connect to iTunes comes up and does not go away

To fix, you need to connect the device to your computer, but first make sure it has the latest version of iTunes.

1. Connect the device, and then open iTunes
2. Press and hold both the sleep/wake and home buttons
3. Keep holding for at least 10 seconds
4. Do not release when you see the Apple logo, wait for a recovery screen
5. Select update, not restore

Apple have released a fix, so the new version of iOS that comes down will fix the problem.
